Biržuvėnai – an ancient settlement located in Luokė region. It is surrounded by wonderful woods and Virvytė river. Here is also hidden the mythical Biržuvėnai mound and one of the most interesting and legendary hydrological sources - Laumės pėda (Laumės foot). One unique feature is that the Virvytė river surrounds the manor house from several sides.
The settlement was first mentioned in 1253, in the land division deed of Bishop Heinrich Kurš. In XIV century a royal estate was established here, which later became private. Since 1670 the main carers of the manor were the Gorski family.

Silentium a philosophical and spiritual charity and support foundation, discoverd Biržuvėnai while looking for a suitable place for the development of sacred crafts. In the ancient manor sauna they founded a school of sacred crafts named Menantys. The school collects authentic material, conserves, collects, reconstructs, teaches and preserves unique crafts of sacred heritage for future generations.
